Job: Pharmacist manager

Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria

Hours: Full time, 45 hours over a 5 day week, with 2 in 4 Saturdays. Three early shifts a week and 2 late nights a week (no Sunday working).

Pharmacy Details: A medium intensity branch, dispensing over 1,600 items per week. The team is made up of 2 pharmacist managers, 6 dispensers and 1 medicine counter assistant.

Services offered in the pharmacies include:

  • MUR
  • NMS
  • EHC
  • Chlamydia screening
  • Minor ailments
  • Smoking cessation
  • Methadone
  • Methadone supervision
  • Flu jabs
  • ED
  • BMI
  • Cholesterol, blood pressure and glucose checks. 
  • This branch has a particular emphasis on methadone and EHC.

Role: Day-to-day running of the pharmacy, managing and training staff, maintaining targets, minimal administrative duties, offering PGD services and driving the business forward wherever possible. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to join a large company, offering good career progression but also a chance to work for a creditable, supportive company. The role is centred on pharmacist managers being patient-centred and clinically focused to ensure all patient needs are met. Our client is also looking for a pharmacist that enjoys working in high volume branches and has experience in managing teams.

Person specification: The ideal branch manager is a pharmacist that has good leadership and interpersonal skills. Has the ability to drive and motivate a dispensary team, as well as supporting and mentoring support staff to ensure all members reach their maximum potentials. Very service driven, with the enthusiasm to increase business performance and take on board new PGD, advanced and enhanced services.

Pharmacy opening times:
Monday: 8am to 11pm
Tuesday-Saturday: 7am to 11pm
Sunday: 11am to 5pm
